just testing
Several of the ladies in my blogroll have noticed that their Blogger sites are having formatting issues... so I decided to do a test post here to see if I get the same problem.
As for status on NT, still no RSS feed. Fahim is finishing up the first draft of his novel and then is back to working on Blog 8.4, which is supposed to have RSS along with a couple other tweaks. So hopefully soon....
[edit: yep, ive got the same weirdness going on too. Looks to me from viewing the blog itself that there's a conflict with the sidebar. Every single Blogger site I've looked at today that's doing this have been the same thing. Header looks fine, first post title looks fine, but a huge space that coincides exactly with the sidebar, and then text of the first post begins right when the sidebar ends. Almost as if there's a code demanding a certain width or something like that. And since my NT template was taken exactly from Blogger and only the tags were edited to change things like $blogcode$ to $blogcode (because of the way Fahim wrote his coding), I know it has to be something within Blogger itself. And since my April post was fine (because of course I hadn't republished till I posted today), it's something that happened recently.
Gonna try something else. Gonna save this as a draft, which takes it off publicview, and see if the April post is affected after publishing again. If it is, that tells me that Blogger made a change that globally affects everyone's templates after whatever date.
edit2: yep, April is foobed too. And I didn't make any changes to my template. So whatever Blogger did, the fact that I came in to test it out has now had me fall victim as well.
I'm SO VERY HAPPY that I decided to get away from this site....
If there's anyone else out there that's also fed up with Blogger's vagaries and would like to try out the alternative that I've got, drop me a line. The software is free, the support group is amazing (Fahim himself posts infrequently but the knowledge held by the various users that frequent the support board is astounding), and with a few tweaks, you can use your existing Blogger template so that your new blog looks the same! You do need to have your own webspace somewhere, which can even be on Geocities or wherever... doesn't have to be a customized domain name that you're paying for.
